Hair Tips and Tricks: The Two-Strand Twist
My favorite and most durable hairstyle is the Two Strand Twist Out.
My mom, my sister, and I all wear this hairstyle. For this tutorial my mom, Margie, is the example. I hope you enjoy her pretty face and cute gestures.
Steps
1. Wash your hair.
2. Apply a leave in conditioner.
3. Blow dry hair just enough to stretch out hair for length.
4. Start at the nape of your neck and create a small horizontal part
5. Take a chunk of hair about the size of your pointer and middle finger and split into two pieces.
6. Apply cream product to each strand and twist the two strands around each other.
7. Add extra product to the tips of the ends and reinforce the twist to ensure definition.
8. Continue this technique, parting and twisting horizontally all the way through your hair.
9. At this point you can either sit under a dryer for 1+ hours and/or leave it twisted for as many days as possible. (I often times sit under the dryer and leave it in twists for up to 2-3 days) Note: the longer you leave it in the twist set the longer it will hold once you untwist it.
10 10. After the setting time is complete. Gently untwist the strands. During this step you can use a little product to help the strands hold their pattern.
11 Depending on the thickness of your hair and size of your twists, the twists can be untwisted up to 2-3 times. (Usually day 2 or 3 I start to separate the strands to add fullness)
12. As the days go on, the strands of your hair will expand and the style will inflate. Note: moisture will cause this process to happen more rapidly. Exercise, humidity, etc.

13. Every other day I usually twist the edges and the back of my hair and any other frizzy undefined part of my hair at night to redefine the pattern.
14. When it gets beyond repair I resort to this hairstyle….
